In the background is Coombe Bishop. I think this used the Bishops Coney baseboards but I can't remember now. I replaced the track plan with one based on Helston. Having a branch line on a layout is great. The operating potential is increased enormously and you can send your friends off to play on it whilst you get on with the serious work on the mainline.
The train turntable is based on a Peter Denny idea. If you are not familiar with the work of Peter and his Buckingham Branch you have missed out on the work of an original thinker and a master modeller. I think the table was 6 feet long. The other end of the line was going to be a terminus. |
